Sarasota woman dies in I-75 crash

SARASOTA COUNTY - The driver who died Wednesday morning in an accident on I-75 has been identified. Dead is Sherry l. Kubiak, 66, of Sarasota.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, Kubiak was driving her Fiat 500 south in the left lane of I-75, just south of River Road, behind a tractor trailer rig driven by Ramon Enrique Ruiz, 47, of Hialeah. When Ruiz began to slow, Kubiak reportedly failed to notice and collided with the rear of the rig.

Kubiak was declared dead at the scene, from injuries sustained in the crash.
