Football great Cris Carter is never at a loss for words.

So it's no surprise the loquacious former ESPN analyst is now teaming with Twitter to provide live commentary and analysis through Periscope for each NFL Thursday Night Football game this season, starting with tonight's Super Bowl 50 rematch between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver, with more than 223,000 Twitter followers, of course tweeted about his new gig on Wednesday:

Twitter confirmed the news Thursday. Carter's presence will be similar to how former American tennis champion Andy Roddick is using the social network to provide sharp and witty commentary on this year's US Open:

Next week, Twitter begins live-streaming the first of 10 Thursday Night Football games.
