This season, in my eyes, should be one of the best seasons Lynnwood’s football program has had for a while given that we stay healthy. It will still take hard work because of the competition we have in this league, but I have faith in my kids (that) they will be competitors and they will be successful.”

We have a nice blend of experienced seniors, scrappy juniors and athletic sophomores, who will contribute on Friday nights. Over the summer, we have competed well against quality football programs in seven-on-sevens and 11-on-11s, giving us optimism that we will play quality football throughout the regular season. Our reshaped coaching staff has done an excellent job getting us prepared. Ultimately, our goal is to earn our way into the 2A playoffs knowing anything can happen from there.”

Coach’s quote: “We’ve got some senior leaders at some of the key spots — running back and quarterback. So we’ll be looking for our offense to build on a lot of the momentum that it got last year. It was a much better offense. Defensively, we’re going to be young, athletic and fast, but inexperienced. We had a lot of really good seniors that we lost off our defense last year, but Jake Smotherman is an all-league linebacker and he’ll be anchoring that defense. He’s a smart kid and he’s really going to help those inexperienced kids around him.”
