The Oregon Ducks Women’s Volleyball team earned respect this past week in facing two of the top teams in the country and not falling completely off the Rankings map.

While Jim Moore and the Oregon Ducks lost to both Texas and Florida and started the season ranked just outside the Top 25. It is where they still stand. They are the 32nd best team in the country. The team should rebound for their first win as they remain home at Matthew Knight Arena to host three teams in the Oregon Classic, none of which come in ranked. Murray State, San Diego State, and UC Davis all come to Eugene this weekend.

To start the season there were some experienced players and new faces that both made an impression. Lindsey Vander Weide stood out with a team leading 28 kills against the Gators and Longhorns. Jolie Rasmussen showed off her serving ability netting more than a handful of aces, and Ronika Stone had 27 points and 19 kills, second to only Vander Weide for the weekend.

The Ducks host three teams this weekend in the Oregon Classic starting with Murray State on Friday(11am Pacific Time), then have a quick turnaround to take on San Diego State (8pm) and UC Davis on Saturday(6pm) before a road trip to Seattle.
