I can’t believe I am looking at the opposition for Oregon already, the season is approaching quickly and we will do this throughout the season breaking down an aspect of the opposing team. Oregon’s first opponent is UC Davis and the come in with experience at a key position.

UC Davis and Head Coach Ron Gould bring some experience at Quarterback into the game on September 3rd.  Ben Scott started trh 2015 season but was sidelined with an injury. Freshman C.J. Spencer burned his redshirt to complete the year for the Aggies. Scott started 2015 throwing for 1500 yards and completing 64 percent of his passes.

Spencer had a slow start then pulled out two 300 yard games back to back. The Freshman ended the year on a high note with five touchdowns and just two interceptions in 131 attempts. Not bad numbers for UC Davis.

Head Coach Ron Gould was pleased with the progress from last season, “In order for us to continue to excel at the level we need to we need that position to play extremely well. We need that position to make sure they’re giving us an opportunity to win.” The Oregon Ducks also have talent at the Quarterback position, albeit without much game experience entering the season. That does not mean the talent level is not there for the Oregon Ducks.

For Oregon, Dakota Prukop has the Starting job.

UC Davis has held one open practice in the evening and plans to have another later this week, anticipating both the weather and time of their second and third games at home following their trip to Eugene to take on the Ducks. (2pm Pacific Time, Pac-12 Networks)
