With ten days to go before the opening game of the 2016 season, QB Coach David Yost spoke with the media on Monday about how the Quarterbacks are progressing in Fall Camp. Wednesday was a competition day and so far there are several that have showed confidence ten days before the season begins.

Entering camp it appeared that Dakota Prukop was going to take the reigns of the Oregon Offense and it appears he is the one to beat. Freshman Justin Herbert is making some noise in Camp, and could find himself on the depth chart for the first game according to Yost,

“He’s really exceeded all expectations…he did a great job in the summer…he’s done a great job in practice. He’s in the regular rotation right now. I think he’s definitely in competition for a spot where he’s traveling to where he could be more than just the number three guy…you never know what can happen as we go.” Oregon is taking their time in making their selection. With the final competition day of camp on Wednesday.

It comes down to confidence, “Terry Wilson has not played in a college game, Travis Jonsen has not played in a college game, Justin Herbert has not played in a college game, Dakota has not played in a Division I college game at Oregon so we’re dealing with some butterflies so as many as you can get out in a game like situation is going to help us.”

There are some big decisions to make across the board this week aside from who will Start. The Coaches will also look at who to redshirt for the season and have ready for 2017.

Yost was asked if Dakota Prukop has been consistent with his passes not being intercepted in Camp. His response was ‘No’. In the end, it comes down to one factor and it is a pretty simple one, “Whoever becomes the guy is going to be the guy that gives us the most consistent at that position.”
