Oregon Basketball is preparing for the upcoming season with a road trip to Spain this week.

The Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball team unofficially starts the season Tuesday on a road trip in Spain. It is an experience that the team gets every four years and Head Coach Dana Altman said last week the team will be looking to build Chemistry during their time abroad, “I want the guys to have fun..we’re getting ready for a six month season.”

On Tuesday and Wednesday the Oregon Ducks will face the Madrid All-Stars before heading to Valencia to take on the Valencia All-Stars Friday. They wrap up their trip to Spain on Tuesday, August 30th in Barcelona taking on Tarragona. The trip will allow the team to focus entering the 2016 season. The year will likely start without Dillon Brooks who had foot surgery last month.

It is not known how long Brooks will be out and Altman had no timetable for his return, “He’s going to be out for a while, had surgery. We’ll have to wait and see what the doctors say.” Oregon will have Dylan Ennis for the upcoming season. Now healthy, he  should be able to find his way onto the court during the trip to Spain, as well as the early part of the 2016 season.

Altman is not set on any particular rotation entering the season. The rotation will likely be the most talent early, “We’ll have plenty of guys to step up.”

So, unofficially the season begins this week.

As far as if the Oregon Ducks can get back to the NCAA Tournament, I like their chances. Altman is pleased with what he has seen in summer workouts and with the new faces that should soon become household names, “I like our athleticism, we’re bigger than we’ve been before. The guys have played very unselfishly which I think will be a big key for us moving the ball.”
