As we celebrate the return of the Vogue Beauty Awards, we take you to the seventh heaven we're in. We're calling it: seven years, no itch. Let's begin with the rules: the 7 deadly sins you must never commit, the beauty version.

Showering with water that's too hot: While steam opens pores, water that singes dehydrates skin.

Reusing make-up brushes without cleaning them: They're teeming with bacteria. Need we say more?

Applying foundation that doesn't match your skin tone: You're not casting for a bad slasher flick, are you?

Over-threading your brows: Pin-thin arches and a permanently surprised expression never looked good on anyone—ever.

Skipping sunscreen: Going out in the sun without SPF is an open invitation to dark spots, pigmentation and skin cancer. Still aren't wearing any?

Sleeping face down: This one's a bit of a doozy, but unless you have a silk pillowcase, sleeping face-down pulls and tugs at your skin and will lead to wrinkles.

Using make-up past its expiry date: Holding on to out-dated make-up like it's an heirloom? If you haven't used it in the last six months, you're not going to use it at all. Out with the old then, and in with the (user-friendly) new.
