Germany’s GdP police union warned against importing Turkey’s political conflict into the country after thousands of people with Turkish roots demonstrated in cities from Berlin to Frankfurt and Munich after the attempted coup.

The GdP sees the “risk that an inner Turkish conflict is taken to Germany,” the union’s deputy head Joerg Radek told Funke Mediengruppe’s newspapers on Saturday. “Those who use violence abuse the right to express their opinion.”
