Last month, NVIDIA officially unveiled the GTX 1080 and 1070 cards, the first of this year's Pascal lineup. If you've already gotten your hands on a GTX 1080 Founder's Edition, you may be interested in our overclocking guide. If you're still holding out for the inevitable 1060 and 1050 announcements, you may not be waiting much longer. NVIDIA is holding a celebration for the GTX 1000 series in Melbourne Australia next Thursday on July 7th.
If you're going to be in the area, NVIDIA has an RSVP form set up for you to let them know you're planning on being there. There's not been an official announcement of what NVIDIA has in store for the evening. According to the RSVP form, NVIDIA wants to show the latest Pascal-driven gaming experiences. VR and custom PCs will be there, as will some gaming tournaments and eSports players. Rumor has it the company will be showing off the GTX 1060 for the first time, but those reports haven't been confirmed or denied by NVIDIA.
We do know the GTX 1060 will likely be aggressively priced to meet AMD's newly released Radeon RX 480. NVIDIA hasn't confirmed whether the event will be live streamed or otherwise recorded for those of us not in Australia, but if you're near Melbourne's Crown Casino at 7 PM AEST (5 AM Eastern Time) on July 7, NVIDIA wants you to RSVP and enjoy the celebration and presentations.
