Birmingham City great Alex Govan's funeral arrangements confirmed

Blues legend died just six days short of his 87th birthday

Birmingham City legend Alex Govan would have been 87 today.

The former Blues winger passed away last week , just six days short of his birthday, to a wave of tributes.


The Scot was not only one of the best players to ever represent the club but also brought to St Andrew’s the anthem ‘Keep right on to the end of the road’.


However, he died last week and his funeral will take place at Efford Cemetery and Crematorium in Plymouth.

The funeral starts at 1.30pm on July, 4 and Alex’s family have asked for no flowers but for people to wear blue.

“One thing is for certain, there will be a rousing rendition of Keep Right On,” said family friend and chairman of the Former Players Association, Tom Ross.
