Reverend Dr. Neil G Cazares-Thomas, Senior Pastor at Dallas’ Cathedral of Hope issued a statement regarding the tragic mass shooting at a gay club in Orlanda, Florida on Saturday night.
“This morning we will pause to remember the lives of so many lost in senseless violence and hate. We will come together to mourn and we will speak out against the rhetoric of hate that has arisen in our country in recent months.”
“We cannot separate the violence seen in Orlando this weekend and the ongoing violence that is experienced by the LGBTQ community here in the Oak Lawn district of Dallas”, he continued.
Our hope and prayer is that our country will one day celebrate the diversity of its citizens and we will learn to live in peace and harmony.”
