New York, New York - A recent court settlement between Top Rank's Bob Arum and power manager Al Haymon may have opened the door for possible matchups throughout every weight division.

Top Rank and Haymon were engaged in a bitter court battle over the Premier Boxing Champions banner - which Haymon started and Arum claimed was creating a monopoly with their many television deals.

Cooler heads prevailed and the two sides are now more than willing to work together - which could benefit a lot of fighters in Top Rank's stable who are struggling to secure top opposition.

For example, Top Rank's two-time Olympic gold medal Vasyl Lomachenko would have an army of options open up from from 126 lbs. to 130 lbs. - including possible fights with Leo Santa Cruz, Carl Frampton, Abner Mares, Jesus Cuellar, and a rematch with Gary Russell Jr.

For Arum, he says the fights have to make sense to be made.

“There has to be matches that make sense,” Arum said on working with Haymon. “We settled the case. There’s no impediment. We talk from time to time so that means when there’s a match that could be made, we’ll make it but right now we’re not talking about any specific match.”

For years the cold war between the two robbed fans of fights. So what would the impact of such a relationship mean?

“It remains to be see what the relationship can create,” stated Arum. “We talked as recently as yesterday and we’ll talk on Monday and we’ll see what fights we can make. I been in boxing a long time. You have a dispute with a guy, it’s over, you move on. This year, next year, wherever it makes sense is when we’ll put fights together."
