Johnny Depp injured hand in fight with Amber Heard: report

A hand injury Johnny Depp sustained last year was the result of a heated argument with his now-estranged wife Amber Heard, according to a new report.

The actress filed for divorce from her husband of 15 months on May 23, and on Friday, she obtained a domestic violence restraining order against Depp, amid allegations he had been physically abusive to her during a fight two days before she decided to end their marriage.

On Tuesday, Heard's lawyers released a statement in response to the backlash the 30-year-old has faced since detailing her alleged relationship trauma, claiming the clash on 21 May 21, when Johnny is said to have thrown an iPhone at his wife, wasn't the first time the 52-year-old had upset Heard.

"Amber has suffered through years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Johnny," they declared.

Multiple reports suggest the couple frequently fought, and now an insider has revealed the hand injury Depp suffered in March 2015, occurred during a domestic altercation while he was in Australia filming the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, Dead Men Tell No Tales.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Heard confided in close friends that Depp hurt his hand punching a wall during their fight. The damage was so serious, he had to return to the U.S. for surgery to have a pin inserted in a finger, halting the movie shoot for over a month as he recovered.

Few details about Depp's injury were released at the time, although producers made it clear it was not the result of an accident on set.

Representatives for both Heard and Depp have yet to respond to the latest claims, although the Hollywood veteran's spokesperson blasted the assault accusations on Friday, stating, "Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse."
