A 63-year-old man who went missing for nearly two weeks as he was being transported from a Westwood hospital to a care facility in Long Beach was reunited with his family Tuesday morning.

Deloris Farmer said she got a call from a bank teller in Inglewood saying that her brother, Andrew La Mont Farmer, was trying to withdraw money but did not have identification on him.

“He was saying his name was La Mont,” she said, adding that the teller recognized her brother needed help and was able to find her contact information, which is tied to his bank account.

Andrew Farmer has lost a significant amount of weight in the time he was missing but appears otherwise unharmed, his sister said. He did not have medications he needs to help control seizures and other conditions at the time he went missing.

Her brother was released from Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center May 19 after being treated for a seizure he suffered earlier that day, she said. Hospital staff reportedly put him in a taxi bound for 1012 Locust Ave. in Long Beach, but he never arrived.
