Oregon Ducks Look To Stay In Pac-12 Race vs Washington State
The Oregon Baseball team faces Washington State this weekend and will look to continue their winning momentum.

The Oregon Ducks enter the final month of the 2016 Regular season with some momentum after beating Oregon State 7-6 on Wednesday night using eight pitchers. At 17-16 they are on the NCAA Tournament bubble, but I believe they have some winning to do to make it.
Oregon welcomes in Washington State for three games. The Cougars have the worst record in the Conference. The Pac-12 has been very up and down this season and both Oregon and Washington State are three games out of first place. Oregon is one game better at two games out entering the weekend series.
Matt Krook has had mixed results as the Friday Starter over the last few weeks with a win at home, and a loss on the road. He gets the ball on Friday with Cole Irvin getting the ball on Saturday for an afternoon game, which should be close to a sellout with fans coming over following the Spring Football game at Autzen Stadium.
The Oregon bats came alive on Wednesday against Oregon State and put up seven runs in the second inning as the Ducks held on for a 7-6 win.
Austin Grebek is the player to watch for Oregon. He was very diruptive two weekends ago against the USC Trojans, getting on base and forcing opposing pitchers into possible throwing errors. Grebeck has raised his batting average to .262 on the season and has shown patience at the plate as the Oregon Ducks leadoff hitter.
Despite losing five of their last eight games including the series last weekend against USC, Washington State has some positive notes including winning a road series against Oregon State two weeks ago. The Cougars also lead the Pac-12 Conference in stolen bases. Shane Metheney is one to watch posting 5 RBI’s in the series finale win over the USC Trojans last weekend. He is hitting at .204. Trek Stemp is hitting at .377 on the year for the Cougars and leads the team with 57 hits.

Oregon and Washington State start their series on Friday at 6pm, continue Saturday at 2, and wrap up the series on Sunday(Noon). The series will not be televised.
