Following a  year where the team played their entire non-conference schedule on the road, the Oregon Women’s Volleyball team will face a steep challenge from the start of the 2016 season bringing some big teams and big names into Matthew Knight Arena. Fans should be excited from the beginning as Oregon will face two NCAA Tournament teams right off the bat with Florida and Texas coming to Eugene according to GoDucks.com.

Texas was the National Runner Up last season and Florida made it far into the NCAA Tournament before falling to the Longhorns. The season begins on Friday, August 26th with Florida taking on Nebraska before Oregon faces Texas. Saturday will see Nebraska and Texas before Oregon takes on the Gators. The Ducks will not see Nebraska as an opponent, but fans will get the chance to see the Cornhuskers twice at Matthew Knight Arena.

Oregon will also host Murray State, San Diego, and UC Davis before their lone road trip to Seattle and wrapping up the non-conference schedule facing Illinois from the Big Ten along with Belmont and St. Mary’s. Fans of Women’s Volleyball should know that anytime you have a chance to see the best, you should be there. Florida, Nebraska and Texas are powerhouse teams in College Volleyball and even though it will be a challenge for the Oregon Ducks, fans should be in the seats at Matthew Knight Arena in August. It will be a good warmup for Autzen Stadium later that month.
