After blowing out Patrick Hyland on April 16th on Showtime, WBC featherweight titlist Gary Russell Jr. (27-1, 16KOs) stated that Vasyl Lomachenko (5-1, 3KOs) - who had beaten him in June of 2014 when they clashed for the vacant WBO crown - had to come and ''see me'' in regards to a rematch in the near future.

To which the manager of Vasyl Lomachenko, Egis Klimas, responded,"He had the chance and he didn't use it, so why anybody has to have a second chance?"

But they haven't completely ruled out another go-around since Russell holds a major title.

"But (Vasyl) was calling Gary Russell many times, if he's the champion 'Let's unify the titles.' Now that Lomachenko is stepping up into another weight class, he starts talking about it," said Klimas who believes it's all too convenient. "I think that talk doesn't mean anything, just barking.

Lomachenko is slated to face WBO 130-pound champion, Rocky Martinez, on June 11th in New York. Lomachenko still holds the WBO featherweight belt. Klimas pointed out - "He still has sixty days to decide which title he wants. So maybe there's a possibility that Gary Russell will step back and say,'lets unify 126,' maybe that fight is going to happen."

It's not clear if Lomachenko will make the move to junior lightweight full time.

"If there's better options he can come back down and we're going to decide. If that fight( with Russell) makes sense of course that's what we're going to do."
