Following a rough loss against Oregon State on Monday, George Horton again turned to Matt Krook to get things rolling against the UCLA Bruins on the road on Thursday night. UCLA made the most of just one hit scoring four runs in the first inning. Two walks followed, then a past ball and the long first inning for Oregon finally came to an end.

Offensively for the Oregon Ducks it was nice to see Phil Craig St-Louis getting his stride back with a two run home run to make it 6-2. The road team made it 6-3 and had a chance loading the bases but left key runs on base in the 7th inning that could have tied the game.

For Krook, it was the second shortest outing of his career with just 1.2 innings pitched according to GoDucks.com. He gave up 5 walks and hit a batter. Krook was named the Friday starter last week, moving Cole Irvin to Saturday and it appeared to be a good move by Head Coach George Horton as Oregon swept Cal at home last weekend. Out of the bullpen, Cooper Stiles go some work in going 4.1 innings with no runs and giving up just one hit.
