Vadim Kornilov, the manager for WBC super lightweight champion Viktor Postol (28-0, 12KOs), has confirmed to BoxingScene.com that promoter Bob Arum has reached out to him about the possibility of a summer showdown with WBO belt-holder, Terence Crawford (28-0, 20KOs).

"There's some conversation going," he stated on Tuesday afternoon. Kornilov makes it clear that they are certainly interested in this proposition.

"Yes, definitely, Postol wants the fight. We just have to make sure that the finances, the money, everything makes sense. Postol just became a world champion and beat one of the top fighters in the division so we have to make sure that this is properly handled but as long as the money is fair, Postol is interested in the fight,''said Kornilov, of his fighter who won his title by stopping Lucas Matthysse in ten rounds on October 3rd at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The proposed date is July 23rd and as for the venue of this fight, Kornilov states - "I have not had anyone talk to me about the location. Bob told me it was looking like California. We would definitely not fight him in Omaha because there's no reason to do that. There's two champions fighting and there's no reason to go to his hometown."

As for how fast this process will take place - "I think a lot of that has to do with Bob and Top Rank but we're willing to move quickly and figure all of this out," stated Kornilov.

"There was some talk of a possible Postol fight in Russia for the title, as well, but right now he is interested in fighting in the U.S. as long as he's taken care off."

The manager added that he'll speak with Arum,"probably by the end of the week."
