This is just stupid. I do hope none of these idiots get a hold of any high powered laser. Got some crazy and stupid football fans wielding lasers now.

Quite old but still. Not limited to uk, but many other countries.

Edit: Mixed up countries.

That's pretty stupid. Fortunately it hasn't come to the American NFL yet. I can only imagine what would happen if somebody started lasing the quarterbacks in the superbowl or something.

Just an FYI: Bucharest, Romania is on the other side of the EU from the UK, so these were Romanian fans. Definitely still idiotic. I just feel like this wouldn't go over nearly as well for the idiots in the UK. Great way to test out police/security brutality in the US though.

I know, I know! Didn't see the listed countries properly. Saw football and some famous names. Forgot to read it well.

Not something to test in most parts of the U.S. now days I would expect the person doing this to get tased/pepper sprayed and get jail time/fine/probation/community service, and that's probably after they get out of the hospital.

Shit like this is precisely why I regret how cheap lasers have become. On one hand I'm happy that I can get them easier, on the other hand, so can the idiotic masses...

It is not just idiotic, but also downright selfish. They are making lasers look detrimental, and in some cases, making the game stop to figure out what is happening. smh :banghead:

A sad consequence of being able to buy green laser pointers for like $5 on ebay. They've reached the cost of a damn burger and fries. Literally every moron in the world can afford one now. When they were a minimum of $20-$50 things were nowhere near this bad.

It's more a problem of soccer "fans" finding out about them. Entrance tickets to games are by no means cheap, so a $50 or $5 price tag will probably make little difference. Fireworks with a larger price tag seem to make in into european soccer stadiums quite often as well.

The problem is that with lasers you could actually disrupt the game, flashblinding or even distracting players during critical moments of the game.

One major pain will be keeping them out of stadiums - they don't seem to be able to keep out fairly large things like flares, so keeping laser pointers from entering stadiums would probably quite a challenge.

The best solution would be a crowd enforced one. IE the fans give anybody harassing players with a laser a good beatdown:crackup:

I agree, and that would have worked 40+ years ago, today they would get arrested and charged with assult, and here in the U.S. if that happens to you it is the end of your life as you knew it.

I don't know what would happen in other countries. Also unfortunately there will not be a visible beam so often someone could get away with this without being seen.
