Medeama coach Tom Strand could be sacked on Monday for dereliction of duty during his side’s 2-2 draw with Asante Kotoko on Sunday in Kumasi.

The Swedish trainer was angered by the technical bench’s decision to prevent from substituting Kwame Boahene who was tormentor-in-chief for the visitors.

Strand returned from the dressing room late for the second half and abandoned his role on the touchline when the match was delicately poised at 1-1.

He stood behind the dug-out as he looked on disinterested.

Medeama’s technical director Augustine Adotey took charge and steered a faltering side to snatch a point

“I am the technical director and I have every right to take decisions. He decided not to stand at the technical area so I chose myself to take over, Adotey said in a post-match interview.

“The reason being that he wanted to effect a substitution and the technical bench was not agreement to that so he decided that Tom hold let’s see the next five ten minutes still he insisted.

"So coming all the way from the dressing room after recess we didn’t see him so I decided to take over.

"When he came, I confronted him and he said he wasn’t happy, he wanted to make a change and we refused him."
