Funeral arrangements announced for Redding Pitt

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for former Alabama Democratic Party Chair Redding Pitt.

Pitt was a founding partner with Farris, Riley and Pitt law firm in Birmingham.

Funeral services for Pitt will be held on Monday, Feb. 15 at noon at Canterbury United Methodist Church in Birmingham.

A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. the same day at Decatur City Cemetery.

Pitt served for several years in the Army in addition to his legal career.

He returned to Alabama in 1981 and served in positions like Assistant Attorney General of Alabama and the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama.

Farris, Riley and Pitt serves as legal experts during WBRC's Law Call, which airs on Sunday

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Firehouse Shelter in Birmingham.
