A SPECIAL tribute show to Viola Beach will be held on Radio 1 tomorrow, Monday.

The BBC station is set to replay a live session which was recorded at the iconic Maida Vale Studios in November last year.

Presenter Huw Stevens, a long time supporter of the band, will host the show at 10pm on Monday night.

Frontman Kris Leonard, 19, guitarist River Reeves, 19, bassist Tom Lowe, 27, drummer Jack Dakin, 24, and their manager Craig Tarry, 32, died when car plunged more than 82ft from a highway bridge into a canal in Stockholm, Sweden, in the early hours of Saturday.

On Twitter Huw Stevens said: "So sorry to hear the news about Viola Beach and their manager. The saddest news. Thinking of all their families at this awful time."

Viola Beach had been championed by the BBC since former cleaner Kris uploaded the track, Love, My Love, to BBC Introducing while cleaning the Warrington Guardian's toilets.

Lee Harman, a former Woolston High School pupil, knew Viola Beach's Tom Lowe well.

He organised shows for his previous band, The Stocks, and made a music video for him in 2011.

Lee said: "It was only a few days ago when I was excitingly telling people about a new band who were going to be huge and they were from my hometown.

"We finally had one of our own to make waves. They managed to create a buzz which had not been seen for such a long time, and I genuinely believed they would go on to be as successful as many of the bands they looked up to.

"Everything was coming into place, but has now been so cruelly taken away.

"I would come to meet Kris and the others via The Lounge and for the band, life was all about making music and having fun.

"It is a tragic loss for their families and friends and it is a great shame that their hopes and dreams will not be fulfilled, but they will never be forgotten.

"My thoughts are also with Viola Beach's manager Craig Tarry, who was also lucky enough to do something he loved."

Floral tributes have today been left at The Lounge in Springfield Street where the band played their first show before performing at the legendary Cavern Club.

Manchester City Football Club has also paid tribute to fan and band manager Craig Tarry.

Fans applauded during the fifth minute of the club's game against Spurs this afternoon, Sunday while a picture of the band and their manager appeared on the big screen.

Georgia Park, of Marsh House Lane, was among the first to take Viola Beach's pictures.

She said she was in 'total shock and disbelief' about the crash which claimed five lives.

The 19-year-old said: "They were kind, loving young men who cared so much for others and were loved by everyone.

"You knew if they where around you because they would be singing and dancing and making the whole room come alive.

"I met them through The Lounge bar and worked there with Kris and Tom.

"I was privileged enough to be asked to photograph them and it was the most fun I have had because they were so creative and relaxed and such a joy to be around.

"They were unique and so passionate about their music, we all knew they were going to make it big in the music industry.

"I am blessed to have known them. My thoughts are with the families and friends of the band and Craig Tarry."
