A pleasant tiny town. Renovated main square but rather bare. Good beer in the local hotel. Tried two restaurants and they were ok. No decent supermarket - nowhere to buy good bread or other groceries. It's a good starting point for trips all over the area.

Volary is a small town in the Bohemian Forest where the Moldau river begins. The town itself has no sightseeing quality, but the surroundings are beautiful. From Volary it is easy to get to the Lipno lake, to Cesky Krumlov and to another Renaissance gem: Prachatice. Nowadays this part of the Czech Republic attracts lots of cyclists.

For a dinner you can buy good food in hotel restaurat. Of course beer too. The crew of this hostel is very nice :) No problem to keep a bike in safe place for a night.

There is a nice garden with lots of toys, swings, trampolines. Inside too there are lots of toys for children. The breakfast was good and there is a coffee machine with good coffee.PaulGermany
