When February rolls around in College Basketball you are expected to win games against sub par opponents. This is part of what builds confidence. At the moment, the Oregon Ducks are the team in the Pac-12 to keep an eye on in the Conference. Washington State was 3-8 entering the game but a road win can sometimes mean more in the long term than a win at home. Oregon did that in a very big way on Friday night.

Jillian Alleyne appears to be back on track with another double double on the season with 25 points and 14 rebounds. She tied Bev Smith’s University of Oregon record of 88 for her career. The Ducks are still dealing with injuries but the bench played a big part early as Jordan Loera was pushed into starting duty for the second game in a row and helped put Oregon to a 13-2 lead to start the game. Kelly Graves watched his team lead for the entire game and never look back to pick up their 5th Pac-12 Conference win and get closer to a .500 league mark.

Oregon went on the road and shot the lights out on the Cougars on their home floor hitting 60 percent from both the field and three point range and landing 69 percent of their free throws. The season schedule appears to be lining up perfectly for an NCAA Tournament run for the Oregon Women’s Basketball team. They face Washington on Sunday, then return to Matthew Knight Arena for four straight games before finishing the regular season on the road against California and Stanford.
