As England wickets tumbled in the morning session of the final Test against South Africa, David Lloyd gives Sportsmail his thoughts on day three and what's happening in the world of cricket - which included the sad passing of legendary commentator Jack Bannister..
I went a long way back with Jack Bannister, who sadly died on Friday aged 85.
So far back that I played against him for Lancashire against Warwickshire in 1965, but I mainly knew him as a founder member and real mover of the Professional Cricketers Association which he was involved in at the same time as running a chain of betting shops. That would have raised a few eyebrows in this day and age!

Bannister took 1,198 wickets for Warwickshire during a first-class career comprising 374 matches

Jack was a real champion of the players and recognised they were vulnerable. He was a fantastic broadcaster, both on radio and television, and had a great sense of humour. He got on famously with Richie Benaud and Fred Trueman so you're getting a sense of what the bloke was like.
A walking cricket almanac, too. In the days before the internet if you wanted to know anything you just went to Jack!
I loved his company and played golf with him every day we could when we toured South Africa as broadcasters in 1999-2000. A great man of cricket and there are not many of them. Jack, you will be sorely missed.
Kagiso Rabada is rapidly becoming the go to man for South Africa but they will have to handle him carefully.
Just listen to Michael Holding on this: 'If a young fella like him, not properly developed, is run into the ground you will only get four or five years out of him.
'At 20, he looks the part. Good pace, good build and a decent action. It will be up to those around him, particularly his captain, to ensure he really does become something special.'

Kagiso Rabada underlined his potential with a brilliant performance at Centurion, removing Joe Root here
This looks like a game too far for England. The job was done before this Test. When players start talking about being 'right up' for a dead rubber I always wonder if they will be able to live up to it.
They just haven't been able to lift themselves and got themselves in trouble here rather than being dominated by South Africa with missed chances, dropped catches and poor bowling.

The Sunday rant
The bilge that comes out of the mouths of so many ground announcers is a blight on the game and it is particularly bad in South Africa.
The bloke at Centurion has been spouting total and utter nonsense throughout this match. He's the champion of bilge.
Where do they find these people? The crowd have absolutely no interest in what he is saying whatsoever. They're having a nice day out at the Test and he's adding absolutely nothing of worth to it.
England need a big effort now to get out of this Test unscathed and they won't want to let South Africa mask the fact that Alastair Cook's side have won the series.
South Africa are a bowler down, with Kyle Abbott breaking down, and it remains to be seen whether Kagiso Rabada can get through 20 odd overs again.
It won't be easy but England need someone to step up with a huge century second time round. They need to quieten South Africa down again.
