Free Help For Homeowners Facing Foreclosure

DETROIT (WWJ) - If you're facing foreclosure and worried about the wolf at the door, there is free help Friday.

According to Dona Ponepinto with the United Way of Southeastern Michigan, financial counselors will be on site to assist homeowners with their foreclosure issues. "We have about 13 banks participating. Homeowners that are either in foreclosure or at-risk of foreclosure are encouraged to attend," Ponepinto said. "Bring their last three pay stubs, tax return information, bank statements, documentation of income and proof of hardship."

Again, the event is free. It runs from 10am to 7pm at the Masonic Temple in Detroit.
