<em>Green</em> Roofing Doesn't Have To Be Over Your Head

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - How's your roof doing after all the winter weather? If you find when spring comes that you need to do some roof work, maybe you want to consider a green roof. Not green-colored shingles, green roofs have plants growing on them – and that can help keep your home or office building warmer in winter and cooler in summer while absorbing rainwater and protecting the roof structure below by shielding it from the sun.

Green roofs are getting more and more popular, and you can learn why tonight at 7:30 at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA. Ed Snodgrass, who started the first green roof nursery in North America and co-author of The Green Roof Manual, is giving a talk to help you understand why and where to build a green roof, what plants to use, and how to take care of them.
