The dynamic duo of Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs) and Roman Gonzalez (44-0, 38KOs) have fought on the same cards for their last two fights.

Back in May, they fought at the Forum in Inglewood, California as they scored knockout victories over Willie Monroe Jr. and Edgar Sosa, respectively. Then in October they played to a sell-out crowd at the Madison Square Garden in New York, where Gonzalez halted Brian Viloria in nine rounds and Golovkin - making his pay-per-view debut - knocked out David Lemieux in eight.

As they look forward to their next assignments, there is a very good chance that they will once again share the marquee on April 23rd.

"That's been the best combination in boxing so far having that one-two,"said Tom Loeffler, the managing director of K2 Promotions which has a stake in both boxers."That hasn't been finalized, yet, but I know for sure the fans would like to see the two best pound-for-pound fighters on the same show again."

It's not clear who Golovkin will face as WBO belt-holder Billy Joe Saunders has passed on the opportunity to face him next. As for Gonzalez, who holds the WBC flyweight title, is there any chance of a highly anticipated rematch with Juan Francisco Estrada, who holds the WBO and WBO belts in the division?

Loeffler answered - "Not in this fight, no. That is definitely a fight I believe both fighters are interested in. It would be a great rematch and if we can make that fight, it'll probably be in the fall sometime."
