To be launched simultaneously in India and Indonesia on the 20th of this month, these are the first images of new TVS Apache 200 without camouflage.
Inspired by the Draken concept, TVS Apache 200 gets a muscular, no-nonsense body. This has helped TVS in keeping the bike’s weight at minimum, and with no excessive parts, the price too will be competitive.
The naked sports bike from TVS is aimed at taking on the KTM Duke 200, which is currently the most powerful and fastest in the 200 cc segment.
New TVS Apache 200 is powered by a 197.75 cc single cylinder oil-cum-liquid cooled carbureted engine which will generate peak power of 20.23 hp @ 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 18.1 Nm @ 7,000 rpm via a five speed gearbox. Weighing 140 kgs, TVS Apache 200 will do a 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and will have a top speed of 130 kmph.
Talking about specs, bore is 66 mm, stroke is 57.8 mm, while bore to stroke ratio is at 1.14. Engine idling is set at 1400 + 200 rpm, while starting the bike is done via button (electric start), there is no manual kick start.
Other features seen on board the new TVS Apache 200 includes LED DRL in the front inspired by devil’s horn, LED taillight, split seats, clip-on handle bar, fuel tank and engine cowls, front and rear petal disc brake with dual channel ABS, stylish alloys wrapped in TVS tyres.
Speaking about branding, there are plenty of it. The largest one’s are the Apache and RTR monogram stickers on the fuel tank. Then there is a RTR 200 4V sticker next to pillion grab rails and a TVS Racing sticker just below the rider seat and on the alloys as well.
To be available in six colour options – Red, Silver, White, Matte Black, Black and Yellow – expect the price of new TVS Apache 200 to start in the range of INR 95,000, ex-showroom, Chennai.
