Cystic Fibrosis Care Pioneer Carolyn Denning Dies At 88, Report Says

Denning established the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ - Dr. Carolyn Denning of Englewood, the founder of a cystic fibrosis care and research center, died Sunday at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, The Record reported.

She was 88. The cause of death was a stroke, her son Peter said.

She conducted research trials on medications for the disease and was the first woman to lead the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Medical Advisory Council, the report said.

Denning also established the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan, her obituary stated.

Barrett Funeral Home in Tenafly will host a visitation Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
