The Martian, Joy, Spotlight, Brooklyn and Love & Mercy Vie For Grownups Awards

Winners will be announced during star-studded gala in February

Call it the Oscars for the silver set.

AARP The Magazine has announced the nominees for the 15th annual Movies for Grownups Awards.

Brooklyn, Joy, Love & Mercy, The Martian and Spotlight are competing for best picture.

Best actress nominees include Helen Mirren (Woman in Gold), Blythe Danner (I'll See You In My Dreams), Charlotte Rampling (45 Years), Maggie Smith (The Lady in the Van) and Lily Tomlin (Grandma).

Johnny Depp (Black Mass), Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Michael Caine (Youth), Tom Courtenay (45 Years) and Ian McKellen (Mr. Holmes) are up for best actor.

The winners will be announced on Feb. 8 at the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills. Michael Douglas will be presented with the Movies For Grownups Career Achievement Award.

Mirren is also up for a best supporting actress honor for her work in Trumbo along with Joan Allen (Room), Jane Fonda (Youth), Diane Ladd (Joy) and Cynthia Nixon (James White).

The Sylvester Stallone comeback continues with a best a supporting actor nomination for his work once again as Rocky Balboa in Creed. His competition includes Jeff Daniels (Steve Jobs), Robert De Niro (Joy), Michael Keaton (Spotlight) and Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies).

Straight Outta Compton makes an appearance in the best intergenerational film category, which also includes Creed, Grandma, The Intern and Woman in Gold.

The nominees for best movie for grownups who refuse to grow up include Inside Out, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Paddington, The Peanuts Movie and Shaun The Sheep Movie.

The Theory of Everything, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell, J.K. Simmons, Rene Russo, St. Vincent and Love Is Strange were some of the winners in 2015.
