You aren't alone in changing the channel whenever one of those devastating ASPCA commercials comes on and sad puppies fill your screen...even Sarah McLachlan can't watch them, and she's the spokesperson!

In an interview with Makers, the singer says while the commercial gained her an entirely new audience—to a point where old women in Target recognize her as "that dog lady"—she still has a difficult time when she hears her voice and the song "Angel" begins playing n the background.

"I can't watch them," she reveals to the publication. "It just kills me."

However, despite how many people may be changing the channel, McLachlan says those commercials have raised an incredible amount of money.

"I said those words, the song went with the pictures, and it raised 30 million bucks," she explains. "It really hit home in a profound way, and there were articles written about how we'd changed the face of fundraising."

We can certainly agree with that!
