Pac-12 Week 13 helmet stickers: Washington defense likes them apples

Time for our weekly tip of the cap to three(ish) players from the Pac-12 who stood out during this weekend's games.

Bay Area kickers: Conrad Ukropina of Stanford only kicked one field goal on Saturday. He only needed one. Ukropina calmly drilled a 45-yard field goal as time expired to give the Cardinal a 38-36 win over No. 6 Notre Dame and, possibly, keep Stanford alive in the College Football Playoff conversation. Matt Anderson of Cal hit two field goals Saturday. And while his last-second game-winner in a 48-46 victory over Arizona State won’t resonate nationally the way Stanford’s will, it capped a fantastic comeback.

Adoree' Jackson, CB, USC: Not only did he lead the Trojans with six tackles (all solo) and a pair of pass breakups, Jackson returned a punt for a touchdown for the second straight week. His 42-yard punt return TD gave USC a 20-14 lead over UCLA heading into halftime on Saturday. The Trojans would go on to a 40-21 win to lock up the Pac-12 South title.

Washington’s defense: The league’s top-rated defense was outstanding in the Huskies' 45-10 Apple Cup win over Washington State on Friday. The Huskies held the nation’s top-ranked passing attack to one touchdown (worth noting that Luke Falk did not play for the Cougars), posted seven tackles for a loss and three sacks, and helped Washington score 28 points off seven Washington State turnovers. Sidney Jones had a 69-yard pick-six, Darren Gardenhire had a 28-yard scoop-and-score and Azeem Victor had a 27-yard interception return for a touchdown.
