The Oregon Ducks Women’s Volleyball team has had a very up and down season, but the they have come together at the right time. On Friday night, Senior night at Matthew Knight Arena, the team said farewell to Martenne Bettendorf. She had 13 kills on the night and hit at .281 in a three game sweep of Oregon State in another Civil War, this one in Volleyball.  Oregon has put together a two game winning streak and have won four of  their last six games to finish out the regular season. They have done enough to earn a post season bid in my eye.

Oregon trailed early in the first set but a 7-1 run put them back on track. Lindsay Vander Weide, Bettendorf, and Kacy Nady led in the first set with 13 kills to take Set 1. Bettendorf and Nady put together the final points of the second set giving the Oregon Ducks a 2-0 lead heading into the break. The third set was all Ducks as well closing out the Oregon State Beavers and the regular season 25-21. Now, the team just has to wait until Sunday night to find out of they will play again this season. I expect that Oregon will earn a bid in the NCAA Tournament, and will likely face a post season run on the road, which honestly is how this season began.

Oregon did not play a home game in 2015 until Pac-12 play and ended the season at 10-10 in the Pac-12 Conference. Their lone loss in their last six games was to 3rd ranked Washington and top ranked USC. The NCAA Selection Show is Sunday at 6pm Pacific Time on ESPNU.
