Canada's Miss World contender barred from China flight

Canada's Miss World contender has said she was barred from boarding a plane from Hong Kong to the Chinese city hosting this year's pageant.

Anastasia Lin, who was born in China, says she did not receive an invitation to attend the event because she has been outspoken about human rights violations in the country.

She attempted to travel to the city of Sanya, via Hong Kong, as Canadian tourists are normally granted visas on arrival.
