GMA Network clarifies social media issue about former block time program

GMA Network on Wednesday clarified some issues involving a travel and documentary show that aired as a block time program on GMA News TV.

In a statement, the network noted that Lakwatseros, a program produced by Asayo TV and Film Productions, was merely a block timer.

"As such, its production team and other program staff are not employed by GMA News TV or GMA Network," the network said.

The block time agreement to air the show on GMA News TV expired on September 26, 2015.

"Lakwatseros has not been airing on GMA News TV since the expiry of said agreement and no new contract has been signed to date," said the network.

The program drew flak on social media after a post by a certain Cris Guiral detailed the supposed arrogant behavior of some of its staff members during a shoot in Kalinga province. —JST, GMA News
