Last week, BoxingScene.com reported that former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was very interested in once again working with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach.

Chavez Jr. left Roach last year, after the Mexican star parted ways with promoter Top Rank and signed with manager Al Haymon.

Since then, Chavez has worked one fight with trainer Joe Goossen and for his last fight he had Robert Garcia of Oxnard in his corner.

Chavez Jr. and his legendary father, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., have already reached out to Roach and the discussions have been going well.

Roach revealed that Chavez Jr. and his father will be ringside next Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, when WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto defends his belt against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Roach is the head trainer for Cotto.

"They're going to come to Cotto's fight with Canelo. Junior will be in Las Vegas and after the fight we're going to get together to talk," Roach told Rigo Cervantez. "We talked about [getting back together] and everything is going very well."
