Blog: Fifth Annual Lemon Ball
By Jim Donovan: From the very start CBS 3 and the CW Philly have been big supporters of the mission of the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Each year members of the Eyewitness News team participate in an annual phone bank and various fundraisers for the organization. One of the biggest fundraisers is coming up next weekend.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF) will host the Fifth Annual Lemon Ball, presented by Volvo Cars with support from CIGNA & Toys"R"Us, on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 6:30PM at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 1200 Market Street.
The Lemon Ball is an evening of cocktails, dinner, raffles provided by Govberg Jewelers, silent and live auctions and entertainment bringing together supporters of the foundation's mission – a cure for all kids with cancer.
New in 2011, ALSF will offer a Lemon Lite option, offering a "slice" of the evening. The Lemon Lite ticket, which is available for $125/person or $200/couple, will allow attendees to enjoy dessert, dancing and open bar from 10PM – 12AM.
For the past four years, the Lemon Ball has attracted more than 500 guests from the Greater Philadelphia Area and beyond, raising nearly $1.5 million toward achieving Alex's dream – a cure for all children with cancer.
