SANTA CRUZ >> Election results for the Reclamation District for the College Lake area, which provides agricultural drainage services, are not yet final.

With 60.6 percent of the vote, Charles Banovac leads Frank W. Capurro, who has 39.4 percent, for a Board of Trustees position.

There are 14 property owners in this district eligible to vote. Each person is allowed to cast one vote for every dollar his or her property is worth.

The total assessed value of all the properties is $2.87 million.

Only eight voters have turned out as of Wednesday afternoon. The rest have until Friday, when the final results will be tallied.

College Lake holds 3,000 to 4,000 acre-feet of water, and the district pumps about 2,000 acre-feet per year. The services are not for flood protection.
