— It’s because of former UT quarterback Vince Young that the namesake steakhouse is doing well in Austin. Owner Phillip Brown told TMZ (for some reason) that the sports icon often shows up at the restaurant, mingles with customers, and poses for photos.

— Musician, actor, and writer Carrie Brownstein shared her favorite Austin restaurant with hotelier Liz Lambert during her memoir reading with BookPeople last night: Elizabeth Street Cafe.

— KUT took a look at Austin’s vegan scene, including Capital City Bakery.Kristen Davenport decided to open the bakery after demand for her vegan sweets kept increasing.

— Oscar-nominated director Jason Reitman is a big fan of Wu Chow’s Mahjong tiles and food.

— Geraldine’s chief of bar operations Jennifer Keyser previewed her cocktails from the forthcoming hotel restaurant on KXAN. She and the host made the Willie’s Cup drink with hemp seed milk.
