PACOIMA — A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in Pacoima Monday morning in a gang-related attack has been identified.

The shooting was reported at Van Nuys Boulevard and Norris Avenue at 2:20 a.m., said Officer Norma Eisenman of Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations unit.

“Two suspects walked up and shot the victim,” Eisenman said. “The incident is gang-related.”

The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was identified by the coroner’s office as Willy Barrios of Pacoima.

The area was sealed off as investigators canvassed for witnesses and searched for surveillance video, Eisenman said.

One investigator at the scene said the victim was shot in the head, and a shell casing from a semi-automatic handgun was found.

The shooting occurred near Pacoima Charter Elementary School.
