Prosecutors filed charges Monday against two Long Beach men accused of robbery, one of whom is suspected of stealing a cell phone from a victim who thought she had made an online deal to sell her property.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney filed two robbery charges against Zachery James Pati, 21, of Long Beach, Long Beach police reported.

Prosecutors also filed a single robbery against charge against Pati’s alleged accomplice in the robbery of a business, identified as Julian Carvajal, 20, of Long Beach.

The cell phone robbery happened about 4:30 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 3300 block of E. Seventh St. when Pati allegedly met a victim on the pretense of buying a cell phone. Pati allegedly shoved the woman to the ground and stole her phone.

The victim was not seriously hurt.

The second crime happened about 1 p.m. Oct. 11 when Pati and Carvajal entered a business in the 4400 block of Atlantic Avenue and allegedly stole goods after jumping behind a counter and threatening an employee, LBPD said.

Both men were in custody at Long Beach’s city jail as on Monday afternoon, according to police. Bail was set at $100,000 and $50,000, respectively, for Pati and Carvajal.
