Without making much noise, Arnulfo Obando has become a fashionable coach in Nicaraguan boxing. For quite some time already, Obando replaced Gustavo Herrera as head coach of triple world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez , who has risen through the roof. Three world titles, unbeaten in 44 fights, and now crowned as the best fighter in the world pound for pound.

Those facts have caused a flurry of calls to Obando from fighters who are looking for the "magic touch" to become world champions, inspired by following in the footsteps of "Chocolatito".

This past Saturday, Gonzalez battered Brian Viloria for a ninth round TKO at Madison Square Garden in New York, which was the third defense of his flyweight crown from the World Boxing Council (WBC).

"From the third round on, I realized that Roman was already dominating the fight when he floored Viloria. But still I told Roman to stay focused because Viloria was looking for one punch to solver everything," said Obando .

"Viloria is a strong fighter, but thank God we did a very good preparation in Nicaragua and Costa Rica, and the result was favorable for us."

Roman and his team arrived in Nicaragua on Monday night. They were subjected to a tumultuous welcome and then there was even a celebration in the Place des Victoires.

Obando is clear that the triple world champion could take up to two weeks off, and return to for some light work at the gym, because his next commitment could be set up in March of next year.

"Roman has to rest. Now it is the time to rest and relax, because he deserves it and we have no idea when to fight again," concluded the outstanding coach.

By 2016, "Chocolatito" is looking to do at least two fights, maybe three. He plans to remain in the flyweight division, and wants a rematch with Mexico's Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada.
