Swain makes commitment number 21 for the Gators

The Florida Gators recruiting efforts were turned up on receiver Freddie Swain (6-1, 174, Citra, FL North Marion) this summer and on Friday he made commitment number 21 for the Florida Gators.

“I’m committing to the University of Florida,” Swain said.”One of the things that stood out to me was how they treat their freshmen players and enable them opportunity for playing time based on how they practice.”

Swain who dominated the summer camp circuits including The Opening event sponsored by Nike in Oregon this past summer, really piqued the Gators interest with his play.

Before the Florida Gators recruiting efforts were turned, Swain was leaning towards the Tennessee Volunteers, but once the Gators started recruiting him hard, Swain was a lean to the Gators and chose Florida over Tennessee, USC and others on Friday due in large part to early playing time in Gainesville.

“I talk to Coach Mac [Jim McElwain] and Coach Dixon a lot and I know choose Florida because of the lack of receivers there,” Swain told Kassidy Hill. ” I can come in and contribute immediately so that’s why I committed to Florida.”.”

Swain makes four receivers commits on the Florida Gators recruiting commits list now as he joins Isaiah Johnson, Rick Wells and Josh Hammond. That list is sure to grow before National Signing Day in February.

This season Swain has 22 catches for 361 yards and two touchdowns and also has a total of 563 total yards and a punt return for a touchdown as a senior at North Marion.
