Enoch’s celebrate’s John Lennon Friday

Special to The News-Star

In honor of what would have been John Lennon’s 75th birthday, Enoch's Irish Pub in Monroe will throw its annual birthday bash for the late Beatle on Friday. Live music begins at 7 p.m. featuring Kenny Bill Stinson, Dennis Goodwin and friends, who will perform many Lennon songs, both from the Beatles years as well as solo material.

This traditional party at Enoch’s has the distinction of being the longest-running such event in the United States, and has recently been acknowledged and joined in solidarity by the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s annual event and the renowned Beatles at the Ridge festival in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

Celebrated author and Lennon scholar Jude Southerland Kessler will serve as official hostess with birthday cake, toasts and even a Skype session so that fans around the world can join in. Anyone interested in the Skype session may check the Enoch’s Facebook page for more details.
