Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is anticipating that Premier Boxing Champions [PBC] will eventually hit the UK market.

The man behind the machine, manager/adviser Al Haymon, has signed several key UK talents in the last twelve months - including Carl Frampton, James DeGale, Amir Khan, and Lee Selby. Other UK talents are likely to sign up with him in the future.

Right now PBC is sweeping the American market with televised cards on ESPN, Spike TV, Showtime, CBS, NBC, Bounce TV and Fox Sports 1.

"I think long-term you will probably see some PBC stuff over here as well, probably with us," Hearn told writer Steve Bunce. "They have a market to crack in America first and then I guess they would expand into other territories."

Besides the fighters that Haymon has signed, numerous British fighters are traveling over to the United States to take part in key fights on the PBC platform. Hearn explained to Bunce that certain fighters will greatly benefit from the exposure and other UK talents are likely to remain at home.

"The fighters that have pay-per-view potential will want to remain in the UK because it's the most lucrative model in boxing unless you are on pay-per-view in America, which is unlikely," Hearn said.

"Particularly at the lower weights, someone like Lee Selby, someone like Jamie McDonnell who we are trying to work in the PBC right now, it's a great opportunity for them. Lee is a great example of where he's going to make more money boxing abroad."

Haymon has received hundreds of millions from investors and time will tell, says Hearn, if the investment will pay off.

"The money is coming from investment. It's a risky model and it's an aggressive model because they are trying to change the face of boxing. Time will tell if the model will work long term but at the moment there are a lot of fighters who want to take advantage of it and there are some good fights being made," Hearn said.
