Members of P.E.O. Chapter AE recently welcomed two special guests from the Louisiana State Chapter to their monthly meeting. Alyce Labanics, past Louisiana state chapter president and a member of Chapter F in Shreveport joined Janie Saxon, Louisiana state chapter organizer and a member of Chapter W in Baton Rouge as official representatives of the Louisiana state chapter. During the regular business meeting, both ladies spoke briefly to the chapter and brought greetings from the current state president.

One of the highlights of the morning came when AE members welcomed Annetta Hill as their newest member. Other activities included hearing committee reports and getting updates on the chapter’s future plans.

The beautiful River Oaks home of AE member Jan Nelson was the setting for the gathering. Serving as hostesses with Nelson were members Betty Farr and Georgiann Potts. They offered a simple brunch of fresh fruit, a grilled asparagus and mushroom frittata with Béarnaise, double chocolate brownies, warm homemade pound cake, and a delicious dessert “casserole” featuring fruit and lots of heavy cream. Juice and coffee completed the offering.

Following the regular club meeting, members of the AE executive board hosted Labanics and Saxon at a working lunch at Bayou DeSiard Country Club. Over lunch the ladies reported out on chapter activities and future plans. Attending were Loura Barr, president; Georgiann Potts, vice president; Tency Tarver, recording secretary; LoisHoover, corresponding secretary; and Lauretta Tucker, acting guard.
