The Oregon Ducks enter the 2015 season with the hopes of returning to the National Championship, but the challenges are plenty. A trip to East Lansing, as well as a visit to the Farm highlight the schedule, as well as home games against USC(which Oregon could meet twice before the year is out). A new Quarterback in Eastern Washington Transfer Vernon Adams was named the Starter for Oregon last week, but don’t discount Jeff Lockie as the backup. Lockie brings three years of experience in the system and Oregon has one of the deepest groups of Wide Receivers in the Pac-12, if not the country to throw to.

Defensively, the Ducks return DeForest Buckner to anchor the front, to go along with several new comers in Arrion Springs and Ugo Amadi who join Rodney Hardrick in the Defensive backfield for Oregon. Mike Vamosi breaks down the schedule for the Ducks.

Schedule: Eastern Washington (9/5), @Michigan State (9/12), Georgia State (9/19), Utah (9/26), @Colorado (10/3), Washington State (10/10), @Washington (10/17), @Arizona State (10/29), California (11/7), @Stanford (11/14), USC (11/21), Oregon State (11/27)

Non-Conference Thoughts: Let’s face it the trip to East Lansing is the highlight of the non-conference schedule this season. Sure week one with Vernon Adams facing his former school is a nice narrative but won’t be competitive or shouldn’t be. Georgia State likely won’t be much of a contest either.

Conference Schedule: Opening with Utah then at Washington stick out in the first four games and ending October at Arizona State looks tough. November won’t be easy however, three of the four games are at home but division rival Stanford is in Palo Alto the last two weeks are the Trojans and in-state rival Oregon State.

Outlook: 11-1, I’m torn between the loss coming week two or eleven on the road against Sparty or against the Cardinal. I point to these games given both teams have strong defenses plus Connor Cook and Kevin Hogan at QB plus sprinkle in revenge for both teams.

The Oregon Ducks open the 2015 schedule on Saturday hosting Eastern Washington on Saturday at 5pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Networks.
